GBV to be Stamped Out of Communities in the North West Region, Cameroon

Last week was a busy one for WAG as Mobile Safe Space activities, awareness raising around Gender-Based Violence, case identification, psychosocial support (PSS), and case management continued across communities in the North West Region.

The three-day outreach targeted Jakiri in Bui Division.

25 July 2024
The team conducted awareness raising with the CWF Women's Group of Presbyterian Church Jakiri, reaching 47 women, including elderly women and persons with disabilities.

26 July 2024
The outreach continued at St. Charles Launga Catholic Church, Ber, where mobile safe space services, awareness raising, case identification and case management reached 149 participants.

Later that day, awareness raising was conducted with the Bongzem Muslim Women's Group in Jakiri, engaging 42 women.

27 July 2024
The final day included awareness sessions with 57 CBC Jakiri women on the importance of preventing and responding to GBV within their communities.

The outreach concluded with positive feedback from community members who expressed appreciation for WAG's continued commitment to supporting crisis-affected communities.
